I have the same problem but only when I push on the brakes... if I let them loose, everything works fine. Any Idea?

To swap in a 1.8 DOHC from a 98 protege you'll need a klutch kit, ECU and of course the engine. That's an interesting swap if you're happy with 130HP (same as GS). There's engine for 400$ a new cluth (clutch masters stage 1) will be 275 and ECU 175$ Total: around 1000$ US

There's plenty of info swapping BPT but not for 1.8 DOHC

When I look at specs I see protege LX F25M-R trans.. the same as ours so why do we have to change?

My speedometer cable is doing an awful noise when it's cold outside. I tried to unplug it and remove possible rust and oil it as my friend said but it seems impossible to get it out... any suggestions?

if only I had the V6... that's what I would want a 130HP engine... my problem is I have a new paint, new windshield and new front lights. My engine has 200 000Km on so I think it will not support another 100 000 so I want to change but doiesn't want to spend a lot on a car that's worth 4000$ CAD... ...

ok so what are the choices? I'm completely lost...

I only want to swap my engine cause it's getting to 200 000KM and I would need a little more power. Don't want to change everything or I'll change the car but would prefer not because I LOVE it. I have a 93RS. Does the 1.8 1999 protege(FP-DE) or 1.8 1995 protege (BP-DE) fit?
