Re: Speaker Crackling

make sure to double check the wires going to the speakers. I also noticed a very small section of speaker wire that had the insulation rubbed off which was causing the deck to ground out. Once I cleaned up the battery terminals and cleaned up the speaker wires things were back to sounding amazing ...

Re: Speaker Crackling

Thanks for the prompt reply :-) Just for kicks I took a wire brush to my battery terminals and wires and made sure they were good and tight. Problem fixed :-)

Hooked them up in series when I had them hooked up to my receiver to get a resistance of 8 Ohms, just did it for about 20 seconds just to ...

Speaker Crackling

Hello everyone,
Just bought a head unit and set of front door speakers, the head unit I got is a Kenwood KDC-MP635, and the speakers are Alpine SPS-17C2's. I got everything hooked up, turned on and working. However, if I turn it up past a certain level I get a horrible crackling through the ...

Re: Airbag Clock Spring

Alright so here it is.
First of all, this process deals with the electrical connections used to control your airbag. These things deploy at
200mph+... I'm sure you get my drift. UNHOOK YOUR BATTERY!! One of these going off in your lap/face/chest would not make for a good day, not to mention the ...

Airbag Clock Spring

Just finished changing out my Airbag clock spring. I know it's not a very common part to have to fix, but if anyone winds up needing to change theirs out and would like some pictures to look at ahead of time just let me know and I'd gladly send some pictures your way along with any information I can.

Re: Electrical/Shift Linkage

Alright, I'll probably be stopping by the parts store soon to check on that alternator. My plans are two 12" Kicker compVR subs with a 500Watt kicker amp, as well as possibly two (possibly three) tactile transducers, one under each front seat, and possibly a third mounted to the back of the rear ...

Re: My key broke in the ignition today also.

Wow, I wish I would have seen this thread sooner. About three months ago I had broken my key off inside the ignition... due to the fact that it was my DD I needed to get going... in the process I busted my lock cylinder all to heck as well as broke the connector to my airbag/horn. The Ignition isn't ...

Electrical/Shift Linkage

Hello everyone! It's been awhile since I've posted in here but I have had a couple more questions come up.

First of all, I fixed the original problem which I had posted about on here (timing belt) and thank you for calming my panic as far as the interference head issue was concerned :P I replaced ...

As far as i know B6D is a NON interference engine.....

You're right, I did some research on Wiki and this is what I found:

"Unusually for a (relatively) modern engine, the B-series is "non-interference", meaning that breakage of its timing belt does not result in damage to valves or pistons"

Really? I'll have to take a look for myself. I had someone take a look at it for me and they said that when they looked up the timing belt it was labeled "Interference." But hopefully you're right and they were mistaken when they were looking up part numbers.

Turns out my timing belt went on me...

The B6D being an interference engine, I'm probably looking at a few bent valves and push rods as well...

At 175,000 miles I'm sad to say it but I think it's time to put the mazda out of commission.
