well ............. i had to take the mating part off too and vice it. The filter was rusted solid.god knows how long the last owner left it on.

guys i tried the srew driver and its solid !!! nightmare. i was trying counter c/w. The remover i used was like a hook on a metal strap that tightened when you move it but it was pants and just slipped.Is the chain on worth a go. or large monkey wrench.Then again as you say not much room.eh.

hi, on my v6 1.8 im stuck gettin the oil filter off, not been changed in a while by look of it ,bought a tool(non chain one argh!!) and it wont come off.Any ideas and to confirm which way does it turn to remove? clock wise or anti?

its normal to drop revs if you remove the oil dip stick. Tapping is quite normal for these engines, specially if high milleage. I dont think there i need for you to change it. If all else fails.. you can swao with a klde or klze. I hear shimming the oil pump is a good mod to do. After I vented my p...

no gauge mate, just the knocking and tappets ,oh and if i remove the dip stick the revs drop.Weird???

What else can cause low oil pressure?

Ive got really low oil pressure and as in a previous post its really tappety and knocks if i rev it.May well be an oil pump? If so is it hard or expensive?

Hi guys , think i need oil change as sounding a bit tappety.Its a standard v6.Im more worrind as ive got a knocking at 3500 revs.Its not a deep knocking. more like a rattle. Any ideas guys?
