Re: Help with 2.5L engine

SE-Man's post is confusing. The firing order is sequential, one through 6. Of course the odd cylinders are on one bank (number one being the most forward) and the even cylinders are on the other bank! This is standard cylinder numbering covention for "vee" engines. One fires, cylinder on e...

Sean "Turbo 2.5" website

Anybody know what happened to this guy's website? Almost every decent MX3 website has a link to his page and none of them work.

Re: What Octane level U guys use

Hey dude! What manufacturer DID design their engines to "run" with Techron? This is a rhetorical question of course, since none did...unless you have some inside info that you'd like to share with us about the evils of Techron and engine design.

Re: Heat Shield - removal

Normally I agree with Mr. Coleman's posts but I don't here.
I doubt seriously if you lost any HP at all. If heat shields were that effective, wouldn't they be used on race cars?
I'm not an automotive designer but I'm guessing this particular shield is there because it's the lowest mounted por...

Found it! Numbers are found underneath valve cover flange about midway down the head on the INTAKE side, "KL31-1A1".

Re: parting out 92 gs

I really could use a passenger door but I understand that you don't want to ship something that big.
How about a valve cover, the one on the distributor head?
I live in Arkansas for shipping purposes.

Re: Engine knocks-help needed

HLA - Hydraulic Lash Adjuster
This is the device that sits atop the valve and that the cam lobes ride on. One HLA per valve = 24. It's the same concept as a hydraulic lifter in a pushrod engine. It keeps you from having to adjust valves as with a mechanical setup like on the 240/260/280Z's.

Re: Telling KL-ZE apart from KL-03

The post by Hank about looking for the cylinder head serial numbers at the rear of the head under the valve cover came close to driving me batty (a short trip for those who know me!)!
I could not find ANY cylinder head numbers at the rear (opposite end of cam drive) of the radiator side head (one ...

Re: Cost of a Engine swap

Don't forget eBay as an engine source.
I just bought a KLZE for $1200 there, about what all the salvagers want for the US MX-6/626 engine. Not everything on eBay is sky high!
