Re: When to Replace the Timing Belt
I just changed my timing belt on my 94 with a V6. 3.7 hours of labour + $146 belt = $393 (Canadian dollars). My MX-3 has 169,000 km's so the original timing belt got me that far.

timing belt.....what else should be changed?
I'm going to get the timing belt changed on my 94 V6 MX-3 (165,000 km). Is there anything else I should have the mechanic check/replace while he is changing the timing belt?

No interior lights
Here's my dilemma: the interior lights don't come on when I open the doors, but they do work when I turn them on manually by pressing the buttons next to them. And the buttons at the bottom of the door aren't stuck, so that's not the problem. I recently had my car into the shop to get some body work...

Re: gs gas mileage
My '94 gs get about 300 km/tank in the city, about 500km on the highway. The mpg drops a bit in the winter too.

Re: Corksport delivery to Canada
Corksport is pretty good. I ordered some rear mud flaps from them last winter and it took about 3 weeks to get them here to Saskatchewan. No problems. Prices are in US dollars.

Re: Winter around corner. What tires?
I've just gone through 2 Saskatchewan winters with the Yokohama Avid T4's, only because at the time I couldn't afford a new set. They were terrible! They're like racing slicks, very little traction. I just purchased 4 Bridgestone Potenza RE910's about one month ago, but there hasn't been any snow to...

Re: Quick questions:
Hmmm, it could be a tough find, at least in the 205/55 R15 size. There aren't many tires in that size. FYI, I just purchased 4 all-season Bridgestone Potenza RE910's from Kal-Tire for about $115/each, total price of about $600 (including taxes, wheel balancing, etc.) Eagle GT II's were priced at abo...

Re: Who has power?
I have a '94 GS, loaded including power windows and door locks and 155,000 km's. No major problems yet, just had to replace minor stuff like tires and exhaust and a cv boot. Not sure if the cv joints are still the originals or if they were changed before I bought it.

Re: Gas mileage and other newbie questions?!
I usually drive until the orange light on the fuel gauge comes on. I can get about 300 km's city driving and close to 600 km's on the highway. That's in the summertime, the mpg in city driving drops a bit more in the cold Canadian winters too.

Re: Sun roof isnt working!!
The same thing happens to mine too after it rains....the moisture makes the rubber form a really tight seal, so tight that the motor alone won't open the sunroof. All I do is gently push it up at the back to help it get going.
