Re: integral to remote?
First you would have to have your turbo manifold adapted with a flange to mount a external wastegate to. To range about $500USD up over $1200USD for a wastegate. Tial and HKS offer the best ones. Then you would have to simply weld the internal actuator in closed position so it stays closed. Thats al...

Re: October Drag Board
Well I won't get to the 1/4 untill I get the big turbo on & running. I'll probably put it on the dyno befor going over 14 PSI or so. You probably won't see me hit the 1/4 untill the NOPI Race Wars in Dinwiddie, VA on August 16 & 17. Depending on how much boost I'm running, they may only let ...

Re: Oil residue in the turbo???
P.S.
check for play on the compressor wheel & shaft. Pulling it shouldn't noticibly move. side to side it may have a VERY small amount of play. If it moves much have Derrick check it out, the oil seals could be leaking. First try what I told you above. Then if the oil builds back up again yo...

Re: Oil residue in the turbo???
If your valve cover has a hose going from it to the intake pipe then that is probably where it is coming from. Disconnect it and place a universal filter on the valve cover, or use a hose routed to a filtered catch can. Just make sure the valve cover can still breath, other wise your valve train wil...

Re: headgasket??( Compression/bore)
The B6T's stock compression is 7.9:1 which is EXTREMELY boost friendly! Personally thats where I'm staying because of the BIG 28-29PSI of boost pressure I'll be running. As for going above 18PSI, even on my big turbo, it's suggested that you use a metal head gasket from a Miata, then do forged pisto...

Re: Pics of the MONI-PIT
I thought you were using the B6T not the BPT? Dave was using a heavily beefed up BP, at least thats what an article I read about him said. The reason I had problems is because the B6 series blocks are physicaly shorter than the BP series block. How tha.....did that work out for you??? Did you have t...

Re: Pics of the MONI-PIT

So after them sending my the wrong ones 3 times in a row I got pissed off and decided to make it work my self. This was 3weeks of waiting. Well good ole stuborn me dec...

P.S.
The Auto Zone axle ripped apart at the Universal Joint. I heard it pop when I backed out of the garage. I thought it was just the coil over helper spring. The out of the driveway, I gave it a little gas and it ripped it in half. Needle bearings went EVERY WHERE!

Re: Pics of the MONI-PIT
Hey boosted, who did you get to do the tranny? What all did you have done? The only problem I had with my tranny swap is the driver side axle is almost to short. Any shorter and it would rip apart, LITERALLY! I had bought a rebuilt axle from Auto Zone for a 90-94 Protege LX. It measured like 3/4 of ...

Re: garret t3 on 1.8L v6?
Hmmmm for those of you looking to spool faster: I'd suggest sending off the exhaust housing and having it Ceramic Coated, then use a turbo wrap kit to insulate it further. This likly to yeild around 600RPM faster spool, maybe even more. The other things to do is have a a shop that specializes in tun...
