More fun with a '94 KLZE
1994 KLZE with the funkiness here. Everything is fixed, save for a vacuum leak we found a few days ago. But today something else popped up... a knocking sound when it idles. At first it wasn't too loud. But now it's pretty loud. Any ideas as to what it could be? I haven't done the timing yet, so it'...

Re: '94 KLZE w/ a side of WHAT THE *#&@
it's a JE50 MAF that it came to me with, a stock air box to replace my backyard mechanic cold air intake, and a KL01 ECU from a 94 MX-6. Yes, it was jumped when we messed around with the idle-- initially not in order to obtain the continuity readings for the right setting (and because the TB was out...

Since our last episode: - the manifold has been given the blessing to return to the block with some fancy real gaskets - the vacuum and fuel lines have been replaced - the fuel rails were replaced with ones that work... hallelujah. I turned the key and it ran. See that? Past tense. It idled high but...

I knew I could find a better picture of the fuel rail... http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z394/onlybythenight1/fuelrail_zpsd5b7452f.jpg I've heard of people doing something like this to make enough space for the throttle body, but this is where I was also losing a lot of fuel (shocker). Has anyon...

Re: '94 KLZE w/ a side of WHAT THE *#&@
I'd love to hold on to it, but student and girl are definitely working against me right now but I'm doing my best to overcome all of my situations haha. Driving a '94 buick is definitely motivating me to do so anyhow. I did the pick n pull trip last weekend-- the only KL was the DE I pulled the ECU ...

'94 KLZE w/ a side of WHAT THE *#&@
Okay. Long story short, I bought the car with a high idle (should have been a red flag). Previous owners had chipped the ECU (stock or ZE is unknown at the moment) but hadn't adjusted the throttle position sensor. They gave me all the information I needed to do the adjustment but I don't trust mysel...
