Re: KL 5 SPEED help
First, (I'm no tranny expert) but your second gear/synchros are probably toast. Second, why the heck were you revving at 7000 in 2nd?? There's no power left to squeeze outside of 5500-6000 really.... Keep driving like that and you'll be asking other questions regarding your engine problems.... All r...

Re: Timing question
and, make sure there is a little mark under the yellow dot, because I'm not convinced it was correct on my black car  do you think your cams weren't timed correctly then ryan? I ask because I've done this three times and each time the yellow dots lined up and timed it perfectly. If your cams a...

Re: Am I getting too old for this sh***?
Do what you can to make it driveable, then worry about looks later. I would much rather have a car that was crazy to drive and have it not look so great than have a nice looking car that sucked performance-wise. But, to each is own... If you didn't do any body work or paint, it could drop off maybe ...

Prolly better off getting some new ones with the bearings. Rockauto has them for pretty cheap. You should check them out. I wanna say 50 bucks for the pair (or less).

Re: g series, f series, clutches, hubs?!?!??
You wouldn't have to change them, I was just making a statement that wasn't relevant to the particular topic. Didn't mean to throw people off.
I edited that post to remove it and avoid confusion.

Re: Coolant sensor
I did not know this... thanks!
So that would make three variations:
- 2 two-pinned CTS's and a temp guage sensor
- 1 2-pinned CTS and a temp guage sensor
- 1 2-pinned CTS
Nice to know

Re: Official Transmission Swap Information
Ryan, I did some messing around with the axles as well and here's what I found: - KL MTX intermediate shafts are interchangeable with any V6 MTX tranny (you just need the appropriate bolt pattern or have the ability to modify the bracket to fit) -KL ATX intermediate shafts will not fit on an MTX (th...

Re: g series, f series, clutches, hubs?!?!??
The G series tranny input has 26 splines for sure. The hubs for the mx-3/protege/escort will stay the same at 26, while a PGT/MX6 are bumped up to 28.
The F series tranny has an input spline count of 24 and the hubs are 26.
