Re: Mazda 6 engine

yes I am sure, I had my buddy with a dyno in his shop check it after we had tuned it with premium power tune. It showed that it was real power gain on the permium fuel. SCT is a power programmer used to tune flash capable vehicles, sctflash.com is the site, I got mine in calgary from the mustang sho...

Re: Idle surging..

No the coolant temp sensor plays a big role in surging, an air pocket around the sensor area makes the car think its colder than it really is so it drives the idle up, it must be totally submerged and mazda in all their genius stuck it right where it will be dry is the slightest air bubble is in the...

Re: V6 OBD-II Swaps - Need Information

you do not need to swap any engine harness with the obd2 car all you need do is drop the engine in, plug in the sensors and swap the vaf for one from a 2.5 v6, the only issue that you are going to run into is incorrect vris points. Daninski did the swap and I have talked to others who swapped to the...

Re: Mazda 6 engine

The 3l v6 in my 2003 mazda tribute is 200 hp, 200ft lbs tq, the duratec in the mazda 6 is slightly different is memory serves, its the intake thats different. With my sct flash programmer and premium fuel I can bump it to 240 hp and 240 ft lbs tq. Its handy for towing on the highway or for extra pas...

Re: car wont start and hold light flashes

the oil in the plug hole is a result of a leaking gasket for the valve cover, it will not necessarily stop the plug from firing in order, if anything it may cause a misfire but it wont stop the car from starting up. Change the fuel relay first then go from there.

Re: car wont start and hold light flashes

the smp one runs $58 not to sure why they want to charge so much for a relay, hell I can probably get a good one from the local junkyard for and ship it to you depending on your location.

Re: car wont start and hold light flashes

do you have any autoparts stores in the area? The standard motor products relay part number is RY664 the constant clicking means that it is either failing or it does not have a constant feed from the ignition ecm. You can check it by removing the relay, one side should have constant power with the k...

Re: car wont start and hold light flashes

No fuel relay no fuel to engine simple as that, if its burnt up then yes thats a bad thing, they are cheap just go to the local parts store should not run more than 5 bucks. I would be more concerned about why it burnt up in the first place though. its not unheard of them to fail but keep a close ey...

Re: What is the best $*%#ing Manual transmission fluid

There are lots of options on the market, bang for the buck use GM syncromesh, royal purple tends to work well in some applications but not others, but for our trans it depends more on where you live and the climate you are in most of the time, at hotter temps use a full synthetic 75w90 colder temps ...

random misfire is what it sounds like, replace the cap/rotor and plug wires and plugs, and while your at it check for vac leaks as well.

Re: car wont start and hold light flashes

take out any spark plug put it back in the plug wire then put the tip of the spark plug against the engine and have someone crank it over for you and look for the spark. Its that or get a spark tester and hook that up to see if you are getting spark. Either or works.
