I have seen at least one person who used escort GT axles in his MX-3 successfully. Thats pretty much a Protege.

use the ATX passenger side axle, that will be the correct one ( too short by 1mm only)

The driver's side ATX is much too long (or short?) so use the Protege one. You will know if its too long or short, it will bind and cause scary vibrations or simply fall out. But since a Protege is an Escort, I'd think it will work fine.

Blood in the trunk? I suggest bleach, or a new trunk carpet and bleach and a pressure washer. Well, you'd best just burn the vehicle.

Next time, use a shower curtain, ya noob.

We had a thread like this...

http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.ph ... arage+wash

Put a tbs of oil down each cyl (perhaps a bit less)

change the oil.

take it on a few gentle drives before you hammer it out.

ok so now im in the process of taking my atx tranny off my mx3 but i have a problem with my brake rotors coming off. its obvious my wheel bearing toast because the rotor moves with the lug nuts but yeah i have hammered the living hell out of rotors and i tried prying them off with many different tools. What would still be keeping it on? I already have brand new front rotors to put on, i know i'm going to have to buy a new wheel bearing but i really don't want to have to buy the whole hub assembly.

Beat it harder.

I've found just pulling on the opposite that you're beating on helps a bit, just pull on the bottom, beat the top, pull on the top, beat the bottom, repeat until it gives.

Okay, I need a favour from someone with KL parts laying around, and a caliper.

The washer that sits behind the timing belt tensioner pulley so that the pulley can still swivel when that weird hex thing is torqued... how thick is it? I know the timing belt will walk if you omit it, or in my case, if the one I'm using is too thin. I think it needs to be 5mm, but that sounds like way too much...

so part of my wheel bearing was pretty much fused to the brake rotor. i can see the ball bearing race sitting in my hub. When i took the rotor off i found a 3 foot pry bar and wedged it between the knuckle and the rotor and beat on the back of the rotor with a hammer while prying.
