[FS] CZT Intake Manifold...Yes, THE CZT IM

Post by hppwdn »

Well, after a recent catastrophic failure with my motor I am getting rid of some parts. My loss will definitely be your gain since these are not avail and I spent 18 months and a couple plane tickets to get this one.

We dyno tested the IM on my mx3 and saw a 40whp gain at 14psi over a Millenia IM. So yes it does work, and it's actually pretty easy to install. I'll even include brief instructions on the easiest way to do it.

Here's what I'm including with the sale.

1) CZT IM, only single plenum one ever made, complete with velocity stacks and ZE runners.
2) Custom topfeed rails and tie downs.
3) 2 sets of top feed supra injectors. One set of 370s, and one set of 440s. The 440s are good for 400whp on a dynojet.
4) Custom harness for the injectors, extremely clean install (see pics)
5) The necessary bolts and hardware for installation

Various other info:
The rails have fittings in them for 6AN fuel lines. If it sells for asking price I'll include all the fuel lines/fittings I used on my car with it. (see pics, very clean install).

You will need to be running megasquirt or some sort of fuel management to control the injectors.

Price $800

just to clarify things... on probetalk i beleive u had made a post with dyno numbers.. for all motor u only saw a gain of what? about .3whp?? but kept makin power all the way up the rpm band? the IM doesnt actually see pleasing results unless ur boosting?

just asking/saying this intake is only for boosted applications and all motor ppl would be wasting money?

well, if that's the case, it's okay then.....boosting is where it's at.....totally worth the money.

turboing this car is the best thing I have done to it.

This IM is far better for boost than all motor. The only all motor applications that would see noticable benefits would be someone revving beyond the stock powerband and using aggressive cams. There's a very small population of KL tuners that go all motor to that extent. But for boost this IM is great, especially with the velocity stacks etc. When boost kicks in with this IM it kicks in hard. It gained 40whp over my millenia IM at the same boost level. And that was on a mustang dyno, so dynojet numbers may be a little more generous.

It might be better for nitrous too, but I've never been into spray, so I never did any dyno testing to see.

You can't begin to build one for this much unless you were a well experienced professional tig welder with all the proper cnc tooling and programming ability, so good luck to you making your own. :? If you try to pay someone to make it it's gonna be well beyond my asking price. In the 18 months it took me to get him to finish it I consulted many many shops on making one. Even in large qtys the prices didn't come down this low.

Oil pump failure looks like the culprit at the moment. That or it dropped a valve. Won't know till I take it apart.

Anyhow, back to the sale at hand. I know there's a few other performance oriented KL MX3 owners out there that would know what to do with this IM.

I used to manage a machine shop and program all the machines (15 lathes, 3 screw machines, and 3 mills) along with all the manual style lathes and mills. The hardest part of making this beyond having the access to machinery and time for R&D is forming the the round velocity stacks smoothly into the square runners. Also, making sure the flanges don't warp when welding. I wish you the best trying to make one. I'd like to see it when you're done. You should buy this one to use as a template

Anyhow, back to the thread at hand.
