I got a GARETT M20 turbo! How much do you guys think ill be

Well I didnt buy it. I guess the last owner of my junkyard MX3 had it but for some reason left it in the car. Its the turbo itself witha wastegate.

Looks like it will need to be rebuilt

As some of you know, im changing to 5speed/KLZE

But, I found this in the back of the junkyard MX3

I cant really read the turbo. It sure says Garret. But it seems like it says M20? Never heard of a Garret M20...

Anyone have a idea what car this could of came from?

It looks like it is missing a part to it. I dont know much about turbos, except how they work. Dont know what its missing

EDIT: I think its a M20. Ill have to take another look tommorrow. Dosent Garrett only make T3 and T4 turbos? All I know is that I have a Garrett. I couldnt really read what it said. It was in bad shape

i doubt that turbo is big enuff for a high revving ZE.. if u ever get around to that..

Email garrett and see what they say about it, there techs are normally very helpful.

I can tell by looking, thats a T04B V or H trim. do you have a micrometer? if you measure the inducer and exducer you can determine the trim.

theres also no wastegate on that turbo. youd have to run an external.

the turbine housing looks very large, are there any a/r numbers stamped in it? looks 1.20 or larger. definitely a T4 frame turbo. I personally think it's too large. if its a P trim in the turbine housing as i suspect, likely wont get full boost until the top of 2nd gear with a KL. You could swap to a smaller turbine housing if you find out what trim the turbine wheel is. You can pick up a .58 for a reasonable price and then youd have yourself a fine turbo for 350-400 whp.

lol it looked small at first glance that compressor still seems small but that turbine is huge.. wonder what it came off of?

some type of diesel. tractor or forklift perhaps?

that compressor is actually quite large. it has a 2.75" exducer and ~2.2" inducer. It can support 400 hp.
