Another BP Quetion...

Post by e2blade »

Man this feels embarrassing

Ive read ALL of the threads

SO NO FLAMING PLEASE

or just skip this thread

I would like you guys to verify that i have the right parts and what i need please

cause i love you all haha

OK i got the BP-ZE, it was from a 92 escort, It came with no tranny or flywheel or any of that stuff, i got it from a 93 protege and a G25-MR Transaxle

I have a B6-ME

NOW

I THINK that the stock ecu will work

And i have a SAFC neo so im hoping it will correct things

I guess what im missing is

The protege Jackshafts, protege Axles

A clutch

Will the stock pressure plate fit the protege clutch?

And i guess thats it

Fill in anything am also missing

REMEMBER i am 16 years old

no im not saying to feel bad for me

and this is my FIRST swap

SO PLEASEEEE

all i need is a little help

The diameter of the clutch the B6 uses is slightly smaller than the BP's. The BP's is a 215mm.

the stock ecu will work but the fuel maps will be different.

hope that helps

A 92 BP-DE NOT ZE. from the escort.

Parts for a 92-93 BP SWAP.

90-94 mazda protege BP-DE 1.8 DOHC. NOT its its from AUTO u will have to change TB toa MAUAL TB. and take off flex plate.

90-94 mazda protege G-series tranny. NOT nessersy because ur f-series trans will bolt up to the BP if u still use the f-series flywheel and clutch. (remember that the f-series and g-series clutch and flywheel and different sizes and will not interchange with one another.)

but if ur going with the g-series u will need the half shaft driver and passanger axles. clutch and flywheel along with the TOP tranny mount. (the f-series and g-series top tranny mounts are different)

90-94 mazda protege ECU and wiring harness. ( in my opinion it makes the swap a hell of a lot simlpier) Its plug and plays to the 92-93 mx-3 not to mention the the BP itself no need to cut and splice and extend wires. i strongly suggest using the BP ECU instead of the B6 ecu. resaon why u'll have a 7500rpm rev limit and will get the most potenical out the the BP and the VCIS system verus using the B6 ecu.

NOTE u can also use a 2nd gen n/a RX-7 VAF bigger flows more than both the b6 and BP vaf. but i'll have to twick around the vaf to work well with the BP setup. i use it and like it very much.

I stay away from the SAFC neo in my OPINION its a POS others think differently. runninmg with the stock oem setup will be fine. i ran a 15.6@88 with my BP setup on the factory shyt. but thats ur call not mine.

Will the stock pressure plate fit the protege clutch? ur answere to that i have answered but again. ur stock B6(if thats what u mean) pressure plate will not fit on the protege clutch? neither will ur stock B6 disc if ur using the g-series trans u'll see why if u don't listen to me.

well the reason i went with the g series is cause i blew my f series

and from what your saying

cause i dont quite understand it

is that the B6 flywheel / clutch assembly will not fit the BP

right?

o yea another question

if i get the wiring harness from the Protege

it will have that 8 prong plug that hooks up to the engine for the VICS right?

the B6 flywheel / clutch assembly will not fit the BP

right? thast is right the f-series spline count is a 20 and the g-series is a 22 spline count.

it will have that 8 prong plug that hooks up to the engine for the VICS right

thats is right

im still on a f-series trans on my boosted setup sad thing is that 3rd gear took a shyt on me. so im without a 3rd gear and waiting to get all the parts need to the g-series swap.

My list is pretty complete. It includes stuff that YOU might not need to replace... it just depends on the quality of the motor you got and how much you want to spend.

My First BP swap:(which included a transmission and the costs associated with converting my car from an automatic to a manual)

Image

My 2nd BP swap (mind you, I bought some pretty things like a header and a valve cover and a new clutch, and I had to send my injectors to be cleaned)

You may or may not *NEED* everything I have posted and NO ONE will be able to give you a complete list of JUST the items YOU NEED because it varies.

yes i love you perry haha

i was thinking of emailing you but i'll ask you here

right now i cant figure out what i need for the VICS

is it necessary to have it?

cause like i said i just need the car RUNNING

can i take off the pin connecter on my b6 harness and attach it to the BP leaving the 2 VICS wires just there lol.

well its not needed... but the car will bog down and not have much power.

Its was designed to have VICS.... so you would do good to hook it up (or even better, find a Protege LX harness and BP10 ECU and it will all plug and play.
