So I have an safc, this means that I can get one of those saucy blow off valves that make all kinds of noise?

that's why you place the bov before the vaf...in that order....compressor, bov, vaf, tb

I've seen MANY set-up like this on probetalk

wont the car have the risk of shutting off with that setup? since if the maf doesn't get an air reading (because of the vented air via bov), then won't it cause the engine to shut off, especially at idle?

I've been venting to the atmosphere for about 3 years now. It will be ok, it goes a little rich for a sec when it vents but if you close up the plug gap to around 32 and use a aftermarket coil (preferable an entire ignition system) it will burn off the excessive fuel and no harm done. I would recommend at least haveing a S-AFC though. P.S. I've been running 440cc injectors the whole time. Venting to the atmosphere hurts your performance a hair, but it was worth it for me just for the head turning noise! Shady can tell u....it TURNED heads!!! The power change is barely noticeable, like MAYBE a few hundreths of a second.

hey jeremy! i took the one off of the WRX and put it on mine. its ALOT louder than the turboxs.
but back to the question; you do run rich but as cj said it can be compensated for.
jeremy and i both have the HKS BOV and they sound very nice, and do the job very well. jeremy your gonna need two here pretty soon aren't you? or a race one...
lemme know next time you might be in town. i might be going to eastside one friday before Nopi for a test run.
