Physically its hard to turbocharge either engine because of the room in the engine bay. There are no turbo kits for our car so it would be completely custom work. Theorectically, the ZE is harder to turbo and effectively tune because of its higher compression. The 03/DE has lower compression so it allows higher boost pressures and is easier to tune. Re: turbo klze/kl03 Q
The KLZE has a 10:1 Compression Ratio (CR) which some people deem to be "too high". The KL03 has a 9.1:1 CR which is bore "boost friendly". The lower compression ratio will leave a higher margin for error. Although you will realize higher gains from the higher compression engine. Take time and look at all the turbo kits for the b16 and b18 engines. These engines have 10.2:1 and 10:1 respectively. It's not hard to turbocharge the KLZE. It's just more precise than the KL03.
Look in the FAQ pages about this. There are a few people that have custom made turbo setups that have provided their experience and design to further our knowledge.

Re: turbo klze/kl03 Q
what a load of **** really
compression, WHO THE HELL CAREs!!!!
when you goto buy your forged pistons, rods,
bolts and crank to turbo your car...
your gonna decompress the engine to do it
anyways.
Its gonna be custom not matter what and its gonna cost $$$ not matter what.

Re: turbo klze/kl03 Q
It is entirely possible to turbo a KL without buying expensive items like new pistons and con rods.
KLZE, ZE PCM, UR pulley, PS catback, PS STS, PRM, IAC bypass, 64mm TB, FOP hair gel
