V6 Muffler upgrade

Post by Ehpl »

Anyone swap thier 4cyl muffler for v6 muffler an how did it sound. I have the stock muffler on an want to upgrade because I have alot more flow now , but thier is no way I am putting one of those grapefruit shooter fart mufflers on my car, they have become soooo tacky around here, I like to keep somewhat with the sleaperlook ,lol might be a bit late though, atleast from a cops view from behind.

i tried the V6 stock muffler from the MX-6 loos great but to long to fit in the exhaust bay. i think the V6 mx-3 muffler will fit but what i did was grap one from a protege LX its a tight fit but u have to cut off the two little tail pipes and weld them back on. sounds great or at least it did till i put my OBX exhaust one. now i have a bolt on go from stock to OBX exhaust. hope that helps out laters

Just get an aftermarket like a flowmaster or something. They've got a great sound and they arent the straight throught can type. Or check out the pacesetter exhaust system made for the mx-3, it looks pretty nice.
