HELP!! oil coming from bolt on valve cover?????

Post by simo711 »

Exactly what the subject says. I've got a bolt...far left on the middle of the valve cover that seems to be leaking really small amounts of oil out of it. I lifted the spark plug rubber near the plug and noticed some oil under it...what do you guys/gals think it is.. I have already changed the bolt once and that didn't solve the problem.
I was told by a mazda guy that it might be that the valve cover needs changing, but I just did this around October/November myself.
Any suggestions?
Chris

Could it be that there is too much oil in the engine? It could be overflowing. Just a thought.

Mine was doing the same, leaking from one of the centre bolts, i replaced the valve cover gasket, and that solved the problem. Just don't overtighten the bolts when you put the cover back on or you will ruin the gasket and guess what, it's going to leak again
