suspention questions

Post by sinix3 »

ok so i have a few questions.
my struts blew on my gs and the drivers front spring broke.
ever since i changed the struts all around(not brand new but not blown) i have had a strange steering
when i hit a bump my steering wheel turns and my car jerks to one side. my question is if anyone knows what could cause this and how to fix it. i am also wondering if there are any mods for our suspention that will make it stronger inorder to take corners tighter. any help is welcome. :D

and a full list of suspension mods;

SRD cross member
SRD rear tie bar
Mazdaspeed or corksport front strut bar
mazdaspeed or Corksport Rear strut bar
bpt323's Traction Bar on LCA´s
K-sport Coilovers
Whiteline or mazdaspeed Rear sway bar
mazdaspeed Front sway bar
ZX2 Tubular Trailing arms
Pierce motorsports tubular lateral links
C- Pillar bar
energy suspension poly urethane bushings to replace rubber ones all around

i have heard koni/ZX2 stuts with eibach springs or ground control sleeves are ok. Trust me just save up a few more bucks and get an ACTUAL coil over set up. Also any ebay un named stuff like strut bars and stuff your just wasting your hard earned cash so dont bother....

I'm running Ground Control sleeves(granted, mine aren't an off-the-shelf option), but honestly I like them quite a bit. If you go with a tender spring setup, you can have a variable spring rate without sacrificing much.

I love it, although figuring out exactly where I wanted the ride height was a PAIN. To each his own...

The ZX2 trailing arms you can get off a escort zx2 in a pick and pull

The SRD stuff you can get from another member or I believe blaznlow and nd4spd are selling relicas that are FANTASTIC

The coilovers you can get em from ebay

The energy suspension bushings just ask mx3matt where he got his

corksport bars from corksport.com

the mazdaspeed bars good luck

the lateral links you would have to make your own endlinks if you get them but its not hard http://www.piercemotorsport.com/servlet/StoreFront

C-pillar bar I dont know

Whiteline sway bar from ebay or there website

I live an hour from Vancouver. Like if there was a store i would save money (as i am a collage student working part time and building a car) and then go buy them but as far as i m now there's no stores that sell performance parts for our cars

part numbers do not cross. It's similar, but likely different enough to cause a problem. Even if it does fit, it will have a different ratio and stuff.

323 manual rack will work...

I know that Probe guys sometimes use the 323 manual rack, so maybe there's a crossover there?
