Hahah, I'll try. I think I'll stick with it for now, gonna sell some stuff that I don't need though like my GTR ECU and the spare VAF I've got, just gotta figure out what ECU I have before I put it up for sale.

Still stuffing the valve springs in, I've got two down, these fuckers are a real pain to get in. I still ahvent' got my valve tool in the mail but I borrowed a standard compressor and I've been able to slowly get them in, will hopefully have them done by the end of the week.

Still trucking along on the engine, almost done the valve springs even though I should be studying for finals.

Got an annoying alty problem, seems like the bearings are shot on it. THe pulley is getting very hot and the battery is being drained when it runs. Ive got my BP alternator that I'm just gonna stick in it till the BP is ready.

Having the stupidest problem though. I've unbolted the alternator, removed the connections, it's ready to come out. BUT, I can't get the damn thing out of my engine bay. It won't fit on the way up by the drive line due to PS lines and AC lines, and it can't fit through the bottom since the CV axle and the cat are in the way. Gonna have to pull the intake manifold, hopefully I can just reuse the gasket since I havent' got another one for the B6. SInce I'm not needing a full removal, just undo the bolts and push it up, I should be able to leave the coolant in.

The alty is covered in gunk, not surprised it isn't working at all.

I had some massive trouble with my alty, mostly due to a thick PS hose that was in the way as well as a bunch of AC lines. I had to get my alty through a gap like this.
Image
Heres the through bolt compared to the rusty one from my BP. Yuck!
Image

ANd here is my old alty on the left, and the rusty one from my BPT on the right. Didn't realize how sludged up that sucker was till now.

Image

Todays gonna be a big day, gonna get some good work done I think.

This damn solenoid has had me out of commission for weeks, such a pain in the a--.

Image

Diezzel hooked me up this time, mailed me the part after pulling it from Edmonton PnP, such a pain in the a-- to find in Calgary, the one time there are no MX3s in PNP I absolutely needed a part....

Anyway, back to classes next week, work on the engine for the whole break was: One valve spring installed.

At this rate I should have this thing put together by maybe 2016.

Re: Robs '95 RS Injector unseated?

Post by RobMinhas »

So I finally figured out my vac lines, huge pain in the a-- but with some day light I managed to do it fine.

New problem though, start car and it dies right away.

Seems like when I was dicking around with the vacuum lines I managed to unseat one of the injectors, when I started and revved it to try to keep it going but maaad smoke came out of the tail pipe that smelled like fuel, i killed the engine and took these pictures of injector 1.

And the same smoke was coming out of that hole, this makes me think that the fuel is being dumped in there and is escaping from there and that the combustion chamber isn't holding vacuum causing the car to stall.

I ran out of light today so I won't be able to tackle it until tomorrow, but how would I go about fixing this? Is that injector damaged? Is it as simple as unbolting the fuel rail and bolting back in?

EDIT: NOw I found this video here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEIP9ZYnnRc , it says to turn off the fuel, but can anyone tell me what exactly the "fuel pump relay" is and where is it connected? I found the procedure to do it here: http://mx-3.com/manuals/showimg.php?fil ... F1-113.gif but it doesn't say where the fuel pump relay is.

EDIT2: I'm stupid, I confused fuel pump relay with fuel pump solenoid, I still don't know where it is though other then there being a "Passneger wall" that must be removed as per http://mx-3.com/manuals/showimg.php?fil ... F1-120.gif Anyone know where that exactly is?
