Rear Wheel Hub differences

Post by MrMazda92 »

I'm replacing a damaged wheel hub on my '93, and the hub I purchased from RockAuto is slightly different than the OEM I removed. For those who don't know, it's a GS, so both hubs are for discs.

Here's a picture, if I need to label which is OEM and which is new, you need more help than I do

are you asking why they're different? or just noting that they are different?
cause the ribbed ring is for ABS in case you were asking, i'm sure if you found a non-ABS hub it wouldn't have it

Thank you!

Wow, so it doesn't have ABS? :/ I was pretty sure it did, wow.

That hub should work anyways, shouldn't it? Measurements are the same, the gear just adds a bit of weight. :P

Thank you for the quick response. :D Now just a new nut for the hub and I'll have 2 drivable MX-3s again.

I know nothing about the hubs, but when I had an ABS shaft, the ring could be pulled off with little effort. Give it a couple shots with a dead blow hammer.
