92 idle problem

Post by Newmazda »

Got a 92 1.6L.. Idles at about 300-400 and when i come to a stop it shoots down to 0. Killing it about half the time.. Any suggestions (I.E. how do i raise the idle rpm?) cannot find a single thing on the 92 model anywhere

Check the intake accordion for leaks.

Thats more than likely your problem.

I see in your other thread it was ran filter-less... which may not be as bad as you think.

If repairing the leaky intake, resetting the idle, and adjusting the TPS doesn't fix it, a compression test will tell you if its simply too dead to catch itself when falling to idle.

Thanks Ryan. Will definitally look at that.. on a tight budget atm trying not to spend on repairs since I'm going to be trying an engine swap in about a month or so. Just gotta have it last for now
