Holy crap! Please tell me I've been living under a rock!

Post by im2bad4ya »

What's the deal with the 323F, also known as the Mazda Familia Astina, aka Eunos 100???

Apparently there are some interior pieces that look like they might plug & play in an MX3. Mooneggs, are you on top of this???

I'd be all over this digital cluster if I saw one for sale:

I know moonaggs bought a cluster like that but in the end it couldn't make it work. He did do a little worklog on it if I recall correctly.

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

whoops! looks like I'm a year and a half behind the curve

Here's that original thread:

I've looked over both his worklogs before and hadn't seen a mention of it. Good thing for that search button!

I'd be super surprised if he couldn't get it working. The rewiring from the pins to the cluster is easy as pie as long as you have schematics. As far as the conversion from KMH to MPH, it depends what needs to be altered, if it's just a few resistor or capacitors, again, easy to do. But if you get into transistor territory, that can be tricky. But there are other digital clusters close enough to compare and contrast. Some '90s Fords had digital clusters, Taurus, Aerostar, etc. You could always pick one of those up and see how they worked.

That's insanely cool, I'd be able to deal with it being in MPH for sure as long as I got the digital cluster.

Yeah never actually got around to even trying to fit it in the dash... my electronics projects are piling up. Maybe I should take some classes to learn about this stuff...

Haha it doesn't look like its the same shape as ours, though... At least, mine has a completely flat bit along the bottom edge, let alone the back wiring, mounting points, etc... could be interesting to try, though...

lol, is there anything you don't have personal beef with?!?! hahaha

EDIT: Mooneggs, you say you got it from a Eunos 100 in Australia...? Ummm.... We never got the Eunos 100 here...? We only ever had the Eunos 500 (I believe that's called the Xedos 6 in US?), Eunos 800 (Xedos 9?) & Eunos 30x (MX-3) here, plus there are some imported Eunos Cosmo's from Japan... They're the only Eunos cars I've ever seen/heard of in Australia... I think New Zealand might have had different names from us, but most things are the same I would have though... (As a matter of fact, I don't believe I've ever heard of the Eunos 100 before now...)

EDIT x2! On google images, it just looks like a regular 323 Astina...? We had the 323 Astina sold in bulk here, but no Eunos 100...?
