Has this just started to occur recently or did you notice the high idle when you first got the car?
The reason I ask. I have a KF 2.0L V6 that has exactly the same issues.
I believe, like me, you have the same problem as this guy.
[http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.ph ... 12&start=0]
[/url] (or see K8 Hesitation/Stalling issue)
I have tuned in a high idle to simply make the car driveable.
The same things have been replaced. I have done the heads thinking that the gaskets had gone too from bubbles in the radiator (a difficult job would be understating it). I'm starting to think it was simply a pocket of air in the cooling system now. :(
Scaling in the cooling system was everywhere including the silly little coolant hoses off to things outside the engine (throttle body, heater core etc.)
Cannot find a vacuum leak. The only clear issue I can diagnose is a weak spark (purple in colour, not light blue).
Still trying to find a solution.
It would be interesting to see how driveable your car is if the idle was lower.
My "tuning" consisted of adjusting the throttle body sensor to open at idle (not Wide-Open, just past the Closed point). TBS normally has three outputs to the ECU - Closed, Open or Wide-Open throttle. This lifted the idle as well.
I don't recommend this, but I'm wondering if someone has done the same thing to your car to overcome a similar "splutter" or "hesitation" issue.

I'll keep an eye on your posts.
kinda recent butthe random idle is more noticeable now with the new dis cap, router, plugs and leads

ok so its been a while but i have found some "new" issues
1. there deposits on the exhaust(almost soot like)
2. the hesitation is still there at exceling from a dead stop ( only happens when the car is warm)
3. backfires as well when excelling from a dead stop (but only when i "punch it")
4. i also have a inter mis-fire when the car is stopped. seems to only happen when the car is in drive and my foot's on the break, rather the when its in park and idling.

so far i replaced: dis cap, roater, plugs, leads, fuel filter, VAF, and the pick up in the disty. I also did the timing but i think i didnt do a good job. so off to the shop for that.

I'm wondering does anyone have any sort of idea on what could be causing these issues?

is the ticking your valves tapping? check if it stops after a few minutes, mine were tapping when i had low oil until i topped it up. then it stopped and came back about 2 weeks ago but would only tap for a few minutes. i put lucas oil additive in and it stopped immediately and my cars been working better. i think my valves need to be re-adjusted or something. Can someone tell me what HLA is.

the ticking can be eather your Friction gear spring (FGS) or your HLA
rev the engine to above 3000 rpm and if it goes away its the FGS if it doesn't then its your HLA.

at a picknpull wrecking yard, a KLDE is like 150$ complete. 200$ with tranny, so you get the longer gears.

maybe vaccum leak or injector leak

injector leak would cause backfire because of not all the gas being burned. probably foul plugs and create deposits. idk though.
what kind of car IS that?
