Re: engine swap please help
I'm going to go out on a limb and say you've never attempted a motor swap before.
Nothing will fit at all. Nothing will plug in. Nothing will match up. You'll need custom axles. You'll need to weld in new engine mounts. You'll need a full custom wiring harness.
Look through the FAQ, worklogs, and http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/search.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
You're looking for a 1.8L BP (T) swap.

Re: engine swap please help
The problem is that no-one has tried it as far as I've known. There are only a handful of swaps done in our cars. The most common being the BP, BP-T, KLDE, and KLZE.
Engine swaps, also, are NOT as fun as they may seem. The end result is awesome, but if you have to go the route of custom stuff, then your in for a lot of $$$$s spent.

Re: engine swap please help
If you have money, go for it. The list I posted before is just the tip of the iceberg.
Who knows how those sensors readout, you might need to swap the dash/gauge harness in so your gauges work right.
you'll need to know your way around electrical schematics. You'll need wiring diagrams from both cars, you'll need to know how to use a soldering iron. you'll need to know how to weld, and you'll for sure need an engine hoist.
The custom axles will be expensive, $300+
You'll need custom exhaust work.
You should do some physical measurements to make sure it fits in the bay, or you're screwed from day 1.

Yeah, also make sure that, if your a mechanical speedometer, that you can custom make the mechanical speedometer work, or if you need to swap in an electronic speedometer and custom wire it in.. or something..

Re: engine swap please help
no it won't be ezer. It won't be ezer if you find an M1 tank. It'd be ezer if you found a car that shared a platform or motor option with that engine.

Indeed. I can guarantee that the Tempo 3.0L project would never happen, losta of work, lots of money, for sadly poor gains: only 155hp and 160tq, less than a KLDE, which would be helluvalot easier to swap, still alot of work and money to put a KL V6 into a 4cyl Mx3, but a more feasible option compared to the Vulcan 3.0, and those motors are old, going to be hard to find one in good shape and low milleage.
On an odd note, they did have the 3.0 in the 1st Gen Ford Probe. It's not at all the same platform, but physically it should fit.

Re: engine swap please help
Oh ya, forgot about that actually. Was thinking cars from the era, but totally forgot about the Ford trucks (and the Mazda B3000). Still, wouldn't suggest it...
