but how much money would you have to spend to get there...

for the 1.8t you just bolt on the ko4 turbo from the tt, chip, injectors, cai, fmic, turbo back exhaust... 2.5 grand and your there
95 B6DE 5spd H @ R lowering springs, custom exhaust, 5 spoke noname rims, gtr wing, short shift, alpine mrd 1000 amp, 2 15" ma audio subs, panasonic deck, JBL front speakers AND A BLOWN ENGINE!:(

looks to me like you would drop 10,000 more than any of us with a greater curb weight... super. End of the day you still drive a vw
keep your vw bs to yourself, you're barking to the wrong crowd.

So your saying i have 2500$ to make 300 whp?
Its actually alot easier than it sounds, only thing thing about a vw is the off the shelf parts.
Ill take the harder less traveled route, not the cookie cutter way.

What are you guys talking about? Mazdas are like legos. I have peices from so many different Mazdas and Fords for that matter in my mx-3!
Took the bp+t out of the mx and swapped it into a 95 escort wagon. ;)

Judging by this signature (95 B6DE 5spd H @ R lowering springs, custom exhaust, 5 spoke noname rims, gtr wing, short shift, alpine mrd 1000 amp, 2 15" ma audio subs, panasonic deck, JBL front speakers AND A BLOWN ENGINE!) I don't see very much spent on the engine bay where speed and power counts.(unless to put more than what you have on your sig.) No wonder you weren't TO satisfied all show and no go what do you expect..

Red_MX3_92 wrote: btw i'm not bashing mx-3 i loved mine i just moved on... . you can get 300whp b4 you have to mod any internals...
I'm not even going to go there no need to. I hate to say this but it can handle that much in stock form just no one on here pushes it at that level but just a hand full of you guys you know who you are..

I doubt you ever spent 5 grand in just the engine bay alone.

lol wow i just read this entire battle you guys had.... and all ive gotta say is, yea a bp could push 300whp but you would have to upgrade internals to get it there... and keep in mind i am a huge mazda fan.. but i know v-dubs are fast cars... they are also piles of garbage. any v-dub made in mexico has ridiculous electrical problems, if you have a v-dub thats actually from germany its not too bad... before i owned my mx3 i owned 2 bmw's, so i am actually a huge euro car fan... but i would never buy a v-w or an audi, they ARE fairly quick.. but they're effing garbage

if you can find a vw made in Germany? what single model of VW is made in Germany, EVERY golf and Jetta is made in mexico... vw's are garbage its like the panzer tank of ww2 and bmw's benz's were tiger tanks...lol... oh wait both BMW and mercedes were engineers and manufacturers for germany during ww2 along with porche which designed tanks... actually bmw made the ROTARY or radial engine in the FW-190, benz in the me bf-109 i think around 1600 hp, wonder why they never continued with rotaries....ww2 germany is where german engineering made its mark and there was no volkswagon or they were so useless as they werent contracted... anyone who compares a vw to any german vehicle is an idiot compare it to other mexican vehicles like the cobalt and pursuit, scooters their alright to drive till your friends see you...

how did you blow you b6de? i dont see how N/A unless you dont keep up with maintenance ive beaten mine for 260 000 kms and never had any issues and 200 kms turbod 0 issues without fuel management right now... f--- when my buddies tranny blew in his we put a rock on the gas pedal and let it rip at the pits for ever needless to say we set the car on fire before the engine went cause we were waiting for over a half hour... your VW will have a blown motor 2wice as quick... anyways the nly way you blew your b6 was poor maintenance too much to little oil, old oil causing your bearings or rods to go...

i saw a 94+mx at the wreckers the other day with 400000 something and it still ran perfect just a test to the little b6

Haha I can't believe I never saw this before! If you think a VW is better than a Mazda then you've got your head so far up your a-- that it's useless. I've had the opportunity to work on a lot of different cars, and I have to say that without any bias whatsoever, Japanese cars are the most efficient and reliable. Those german-manufactured cars are so overdesigned it's not even funny, it's like they were purposely made so that you have to take them to the dealership. And I don't know how you came to the conclusion that VWs are fast, I drove all kinds of VWs: a VR6 Jetta (which I'm sure would lose to just a KL-DE) and a two-point-slow Golf (which was SO sluggish I almost stalled it cause I was expecting a better response), bottom line is everyone knows VDubs aren't made to go fast. Even with the 1.8T, if my K8 had that turbo I bet they wouldn't stand a chance, or if you took the turbo away from it a stock K8 would win.

Did I mention that every VW owner I know is a f---ing a--hole? They think they own the roads cause they're in their little over-designed shitcart on wheels :)

I love my jetta... it makes for a great daily beater. But with their high curb weight, i could never seriously consider them high performers. If i want a fast 1.8T, i'll drive my nissan. 2500lbs moves a lot better with 200hp then a 3000lbs car.
