Those are Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs on KYB struts.

I did the rear brakes too so I don't have to revisit any rear work for quite some
time after this:

Ive finally obtained the hardest piece to find for the project, a 28 spline kia
halfshaft.

Now I can put the new transaxle, clutch, balljoints, front suspension and axles on
the car leaving me with the finish line in sight.

So after trying to find information about the G series transmission, I came to the conclusion that there
is alot of info on how to dis/re assemble them. There isn't alot of info on how to reassemble the case. So
lets reassemble my case.

First thing to do is clean the mating surfaces and apply a nice thin layer of high temp silicon:

Image

Make sure the top of the reverse gear is pointing to the outside:

Image

Your case had better have the tranny fluid 'transfer piece / black thing ' already bolted on before you
drop it down:

Image

Find the shift rods, they like to wobble so pinch them together while you drop the case down from above:

Once the case is on these bolts are extemely important to get in before fiddling with anything:

(You may have to pull up on the longer shift rod sticking out of the top of the case to get
this to line up right)

The only other side note is make sure those copper washers are on there! The rest
is fairly self explained:

And finally the reverse light sensor:

Heres a picto-how-to for the 5th gear:

First pic is cleaning off old gasket material with a plastic scraper (guitar pick)
so the aluminum isnt damaged. Its soft stuff.

Today I did a bunch of subframe painting and removed the old balljoints
from my hubs.

I also refurbed the RX-7 injectors:

I got the flywheel back today, replaced the rear main while the tranny was off:

Machined flywheel:

And spec clutch:

I used blue loctite so my nuts wouldn't fall off ;)

stopped short today because I injured my hand. Might get the tranny on
and front end assembled tomorrow.
