Misfire.. help please!!!

Post by snwbrdr92658 »

i have a 95 mazda mx-3 DOHC 4 cyl and when accelerating then i hit 3500 RPM's the car rock's as if some one smashed the brake and pressed the gas again. it seems its a fuel problem because its severity is based on how far the accelerator is pressed down. i already replaces plugs, wires, disty cap and rotor. i am replacing the fuel filter today. (previous owners just told me it been running on the same fuel filter for 70k  ) hopefully this solves the problem but if not any ideas?

what was the temp outside? Did you let the car warm up before you hit 3500 rpm? My car will do that if I "get in and go" while the temp is lower. Other than that, totally healthy.
