Welding?

Post by slimmyslim1420 »

What is the smallest possible welder that you can use to effectivly and efficiently weld exhaust parts? As in amps, gas, or no gas, mig, tig, flux? Any help is appreciated.

I used an arc welder set at 75 amps and it worked fine. Usually for jobs like that 75 amps if perfect as exhaust pipes are father thin by comparison to other weld. You can do the flanges with a 75 amp well. Bonus is the welders a cheap to buy.

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

I have 140 MIG gas, it will weld pretty much anything I need up to 1/4 inch thick I think.

here's one like Ive got http://cgi.ebay.com/Weldmark-140-MIG-We ... dZViewItem" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
One of the best welders (quality wise) made my Hobart who's known for best welders. I spent another $120-$150 on a bottle (filled up) or you can rent one. Best thing is to buy one so that way you take it back just to refill and you always have it when you need it.
