So i took my car in today to get it looked at because everytime i would press on my break my rpms would drop and my car would almost stall. Anywho, they told me that two of my cylinders have no compression and that would cost $1000 US to fix it but even they couldnt assure me they wouldnt start leaking oil eventually. So is it worth fixing or just getting a new engine. I havent read very much about swaps but what i have right now is a 4 cyc 1.6L sohc and i wouldnt mind getting a dohc but i would want a fairly easy swap.
much love

2 cylinders with no compression...
look up the bp swap.... apparently its the easiest swap to do for the sohc and it has alot of potential....
95 rs with custom short ram air, b&m short throw shifter, probe 2.0L header with 2 1/4" exhaust all the way back, catco high flow cat, apc high flow muffler with 4.5" tip, accel 8 mm wires, blaze red, cf altezzas, gun metal 17" mr7s, slotted cross drilled rotors on the way with hawk hps pads, red and white interior, other then that its stock.
Yup. Escort GT's and Protege LX's (or GT's in Canada)reegler wrote:any idea where to find a BP engine... Do people usually get them from junked cars?
There is lots of info on the board on how to do the swap. And it's a very nice engine. Especially if you get the G series trans with it (just say no to F series)
