hey guys got a problem with my car and which i think its the oxygen sensor. its on a 95 dohc my car only has one, i bought a universal one last year from autozone but now i tested and it says on the manual if you get it to normal operating temp it should go up and down on the voltage reading on the multi meter when you rev the engine. i get a constant reading that does not change. when i run it with it off i dont get a code and the car runs a little better. would this mean my sensor is dead? just checking before i buy a new one
well, i just changed mine n it seems to run better, i got a universal bosch one from advanced auto n it seems to work perfect, r u sure the connection is good?

ya im pretty sure its plugged in right, i just think all the work ive done to it, the timing, messing up the air fuel ratio bad fuel pumps and dumping fuel into the engine maybe burned it out. ima try tightening it see if that works maybe its not fully in there.
It's still not too bad, we still get off cheap. Our situation could be like the newer vehicles. My friend's '05 eclipse has two O2's in front, and 2 in back of his cat.
if you can wait a week for shipping, you can pick up an oem oxygen sensor off ebay for around 50us. Oem is alot better than the universal ones.

ya thats what i was thinking, i had a universal o2 sensor and it crapped out pretty quick on our old saturn. thanks for the help guys i ran into other problems so the o2 sensor has to wait.
well either my new front main seal went or my valve cover or my cam seals because i got a ton of oil everywhere on the belt side of my engine. and i gotta get new seals and new timing belt.
