Post by mazdamx3sohc »

the temp gauge in my gauge cluster says its normal but my motor is abnormally hot, its heating bolts up so if i barely even turn them they snap, i just got a new cooling fan switch too. im thinking about hooking my fans up to a in car switch so i can always keep them on.

Are you working on your car while it's still hot?

the stock temp gauge stays in the normal right in the middle, but i think my timing is off cuz i can hear a whining sound. no i dont mean from working on it, i notice when i check my oil or whatever.

We need a better idea of what your asking, motors operate at over 200 degress F. Also the harder you drive the more heat it will give off, If you work on a motor when its still hot it will break bolts because of the diffrent exspansion rates of the metals.

I would bet one of your belts is over tigheted if your hearing a whining sound, sounds almost like a super charger.

Its really easy tp get carried away and over tighten them, after its tightend you want to be able to twist the belt about half a turn, if you cant its usually to tight. Too loose is better than too tight as well, it destorys the blet, if its too tight it will destory the alternantor.
