how do you figure its gonna blow buds
i've put over 46000 kms on it
not a single knock or any other irregular sounds
its funny i had always thought a ZE and a DE were different engines
maybe thats why the factory rev limiter on a DE is only 7100 or 7200 rpm
why would the rev limiter be at 8000 stock if the can't even touch low to mid 7000 for a couple seconds :?:

What do you mean? They are different engines. A klze has better heads, cams, intake manifold, and higher compression pistons.

Good time btw.

i was tryin to be sarcastic ....buddy there was tellin me about how his buddy blew up his DE cuz he revved it over 7000 rpms
if you drive them right a ZE can hit 7200-7400 rpms in a burn out
i had my ZE with the mx-3 tranny to 235km/h 145mph at 7200 rpms a couple times
drove it 1750 kms a total of 4 times in 2 months in 15 hours flat of a constant 4500-4800rpms at 140 -150 mph came back and ran a 14.43 @96.9 mph....ad it still purrs like a kitten.....

I hit a 9.003 on an 1/8th last night but my reaction time was .161. So if you get your reaction time down, your numbers will be a lot better. Let me know what you get next time you hit the track though. I also wanted to add that I shift out of first at 7500 and second at 7200 just to help mazdaspeedmx_3's point. Car runs fine can handle it all day.

this is wrong..ur reaction times DO NOT add on to ur overall time at the end! it dont matter if u would have gotten a .783 reaction time ur 1/8 mile time STILL would have been 9.003

How do you figure your reaction time dosen't change your end time? To my understanding once the light hits green the timer starts timing. The longer you wait to take off the worse time you will have.

Dude why do you care if other people blow up their motor. You shouldn't keep ragging on people just because you don't approve of how they drive their car. You drive how you want and everyone else will drive how they want. The majority of us got a ZE for the power not to baby it! But it is possible for your motor to tear up and never hit 7500, but if mine is going to float a valve or blow up, I would like to get the most out of the it before it does, and have a little fun in the process.

the timer starts to count as soon as u move once the light turns green to the time u move thats ur reaction time from the time u start moving thats when the counter starts its timing for ur overall 1/8 or 1/4 mile time so next time u go to the track take ur time at the light to get ready for a good run

Well thats pretty good I guess. I thought I had some pretty good runs but that one was the lowest. I was trying my hardest to break high 8's. I was at a track thats on a mountain so if i went to one a little closer to sea level I may be able to hit it.
