my fingernail can do it!

all i did was scratch at one of my headlights a little and instantly a layer of dirt came off
still i wonder if i could just use car cleaner to do what novus apparently does
black magic wheel cleaner?
what about just a glass-cleaning solution?
damn, no one does headlight conversions in my city.
how am i ever going to get civic projectors on her without me getting directly involved

mine wasnt really like that, it was old yellowness like into the light. Put it this way, i took my car to the carwash, the wash was SOOO powerful that it ripped paint chips off my car with ease, and it couldnt even take off the yellow oxidation.

I have been using McGuires Plastic polish with great success. My headlights are still pretty clear themselves and use the polish to give them that extra little 'edge' in appearance. I may have to try some aluminum polish since I need some rim care product, too. That and maybe a flitz buffer, too.

Too add to that...

Any metal polish that has a 5000-10000 grit abrasive added will clear up clear plastics and most glasses.

reprobation wrote:In my opinion, NOVUS plastic cleaner still works best - i bought mine on e-bay for about 13 bucks shipped. Its a 3 step process, but the stuff looks like glass when your done:

to reprobation: did you only use novus on the exterior of the lens, not the inside?

Why not just buy glass ones then? Seems ridiculouly easy. Then you got the real thing too, not just a "look".

They're illegal in the U.S if I'm not mistaken. They wouldn't ever know though, unless you were in an accident and your headlight was smashed and there was glass all over.
