Emergency!!!
I am reswaping my ZE because of the broken cam and spun head bering, we got the new one in and mostly hooked up when we were tightening the belt for the powerstearing the tensioner broke. is there anyone in Calgary with a K8 that can spare the bracket with the tensioner for the power steering? Please Help! PM my name is Matt.

it was the end cam bearing on the head side. it was scored severely and wore the cam down to the breaking point. the cost of getting the bearing caps cut and line bored would cost more than the motor. plus it was on warranty so the motor was replaced. now quit correcting his mistakes, if you have no reason to post, dont post, if you have the part, great let us know.
there is bearings on the head, they just arent replacable, as its the actual head acting as the bearing material.lakersfan1 wrote:How do you spin a 'head bearing' when our cams have no bearings? You mean a rod bearing?
you can have the old motor if you want. i'll put new cams in, see how long it lasts for you.lakersfan1 wrote:That's not enough to junk heads IMO. I would have just got new cam set and called it a day.
