i wouldve seen if he could just pay with cash so he wont get points on license and increased insurance rate, cause if that happened to you...would you want him to do it to you

First of all, i'd be affraid of this guy coming across this thread.

Although normally, and I did vote to be honest, after re-reading, i'd take a little more, this is my reasoning:
-You have some dumass trying to perform some stupid maneuvre in a BUS
-You OFFERED to move the car, but he didn't want to you
-Now only does he hit it, but causes a LARGE amount of damage.

It wasn't an "accident", it was a dumbfounded situation that could have been avoided altogether. Don't take him to the cleaners, just get him to pay for the scratch you need to get fixed cause he ignorantly inconvinienced ya. He definitely needs to pay for the shocks he broke, but the shocks for the other door is over and beyond, it's not a "while your at it" job, the scratch is. If the body shop recommends to get the whole car painted (paint matching, etc), especially if your car was looking good before the accident, I wouldn't hesitate to go with that option, you want your car to look as good as it did before. But do what you cant to not get insurance involved.
