Well...., it won't not fit, but no, you won't be able tojust strap it on a non-turbo car

the turbo itself would fit..but you need a 323 gtx manifold to put it on a b6

If you have a 1.8liter v6 engine. The 93-97 probe 2.5L v6 engine will fit ,
However neither the earlier year probes 2.2's or the 93-97 2.0's will fit in the 4cylinder version of the mx-3 ..

I know your new but there is a search button that lingers on top of the page

No, the 1st gen Probe's/626/Mx-6 uses an F-series 2.2L SOHC engine. It's the same engine found in the Mazda B-series trucks and is not compatiblewith the B-Series I4 that your Mx-3 uses. To swap that engine it, it will require all custom work, and custom=$$$. Although it will require some wiring work, a BP/BPT would be much, much easier than trying to install than putting in an F-series motor.

For the turbo, the exhaust manifold shouldn't match up at all. The turbo you can use (EZ_4_FUN is using that turbo on his ZE), but as Joey's Mx said (although I don't know enough to confirm it), you'll beed the turbo exhaust manifold from 323GTX (I'm guessing the B6T) to be able to bolt that turbo to the engine.

Putting the VJ-11(MX6/Probe turbo) will be alittle tricky. When I did mine we had to do some 'work' to make it fit. The VJ-14 is mucha better. :)

wut r u talking about?
vj11 is the stock turbo that 1st gen mx6's and probes use, itll fit on almost any motor with the right accesories(manifold being the main concern)

The 2.5L V6 engine out of a Probe/Mx-6/626/Millenia is a direct bolt in to the V6 Mx-3 because they are all from the same series of engines (K-series), but that is the only engine from a Probe that will fit; the 2.0L 4cyl or the 2.2/2.2L turbo from the 1st generation Probe will not fit.

If you have a 4cyl Mx-3, no matter if you have the 92-93 SOHC or 94+ DOHC, you basically have to convert your 4cyl to a V6 Mx-3, and when that's ready, you can use any V6 engine from an Mx-3, Mx-6, 626, Probe or Millenia (excluding the Millenia S Supercharged 2.3L KJ). K-series V6 engines vary from 130hp to 200hp

Because of the work involved to convert a 4cyl Mx-3 to a V6, it could be less work and more likely less expensive to upgrade to a bigger 4cyl. What is known as a BP is a 1.8L 4cyl that you can find in Escorts, 323's and Protege's. That engine is 130hp, roughly the same power a the 1.8L V6 that the Mx-3 comes with. Because you have a DOHC 1.6L, it will require some rewiring, but it's still very doable. Putting in a V6 will require some wiring, and then some. So for ease, this would probably be the best bet.

Now, you want with something of roughtly the same power as a stock Probe 2.5L KLDE; 164hp. Well, up from the 130hp from the 1.8L BP 4cyl engine, you have 2 other choices, their turbo versions, the GTX @ 180hp, and the rare GTR @ 210hp. These motors were found in Mazda 323's and Protege's. Or if you want to take it one step at a time, you can start with just the 130hp BP, and turbo it later, that's commonly done.

Now, if you want to turbo your stock DOHC motor. It's been done a few times and you'll have to ask around. Basically, you can use pretty much any turbo from any make and model car and engine, you just need a way to bolt it to the engine. You can make your own if you want to, but Joey's mx mentioned that all you need is the exhaust manifold from a Mazda 323GTX. I may need to be corrected on this, but I believe he's probably talking about the manifold from the B6T version in the first GTX's, since I believe that the BP would be too big/wide to bolt up, but I may be wrong
