Ok i have been wondering about this for a long time so here goes... i gaven't seen anyone do it but is there some way we can bypass the aur flow sensor on our intake.. i know hondas don't even have sensors on their intake..and i know it is capable of bing done beacuse you have to bypass ur slutch sensor when your putting in a remote start on a manual tranny... can anyone explain?

Is it possible? Yup, is it easy, nope. Is it Cheap, uhhhh nope. Is it worth it, that is up to you but i would say no. Unless your going to be putting down good numbers with a turbo i wouldnt worry about it.

Yes Honda's and GM engine do have a air flow sensor. The old trapdoor air metering system is generally refered to as a volume airflow sensor (VAF). The new cars use a mass air flow (MAF) sensor. The type used by Honda and GM is a manifold air pressure (MAP) sensor. The reason you don't see a MAP sensor is because it can be mounted anywhere as long as it is supplied a good manifold pressures signal. Yes there are kits to allow you to use a MAP sensor inplace of the VAF or MAP sensor. The MAP sensors are about $20 to 50. Then you need a signal converter that will translate the the signal from the MAP and converter it to a volt or milliamp signal that will match the stock datatable stored in the ECU. Simple to this point so why are people making the modification? these converters sells for between $450 to $900 then you will have to either pay for the software that translates the MAP signal to a signal the ECU will understand to make your engine to run that is if someone has already developed a datatable that you could buy. In most cases you will probably have to buy hours and hours of dyno time and program your own datatable just to get you engine to run close to stock. From here you have to spend more time and money to fine tune it. In the end you have just spent over $1000 just to get back to stock performance.

You can bypass the maf because you can bypass a neutral safty switch? The systems arn't related in any way. Your comparing apples to beef.
