IMO, Unless you are also doing high speed track days, big brakes are overkill for autox. Good pads, fluid, SS lines and maybe a set of new rotors will do just fine for autox.DreamSpawn wrote:Would like to up the calipers to 4 piston but they all are 1000 plus.lakersfan1 wrote:If you're looking for pads, look at the Satisfied Brakes lineup. They make a good entry level pad, a ceramic pad, and then two levels of full race pads for our car. They're available at tirerack.com

well, for me, i have Brembo rotors and Hawk HPS pads. Not that the HPS pads destroy rotors, but had this setup for about 3 years, even with slotted/dimpled rotors the pads are still 50% good, and the rotors are probably still 80% good.
I guess i'm not very hard on brakes
Tires are a different story tho...use about 1.5 sets of street tires per year and hoping to use 1 set of R tires.

what 1.6L do you have sohc or dohc... i did a 2.25" exhaust from the header back / advanced the timing and stripped the rear part of the cars inerior and that did wonders for my autox times...... also you need to get really light 14-15" rims with really good sticky tires... also the srd goodies will help your cornering.... i have posted really good times last season with just this stuff done... next season will be a whole nother matter though
oh and put the battery in the back.. that does help a bit also
