klze manifold check?

Post by garfy1981 »

Hello, just brought a KLZE engine, and KL-36 ecu to do the 2.5 conversion. I know there is plenty of info on the klze conversion on the faq, and search.
But the question is that the KLZE i have at the moment has the straight neck IM.
I was just wondering whether it is worth keeping the straight neck and TB ( will check type) or change it for curved neck manifold ( not sure where to source one), or change over the K8 IM and throttle body ( doesnt this reduce hp ??)
This is only the 2nd Ze lump to go into a UK mx-3 so i want to get everything prepared and right.

Cheers

Is it a short neck? Isnt klze a long neck and wont fit? Get a millenia one.. has to have square ports.

seeing as your steering wheel and a couple other things in your engine bay are mounted reverse to north america, you can probably do a straight neck
swap no problems.

From this article it says you can keep the kl-ze manifold on a right hand drive car as it will not hit the brake booster:

Cheers. I completely forgot the RHD difference for some reason !!
Brought the engine from onzlouk a uk member. £750 and £100 for ecu. The engine is spotless and the internals are ultra clean. Looks as if the engine has hardly been used.
Havent decided whos going to fit it yet
The list of parts still to get looks like this;
Complete change of all gaskets, and seals.
Clutch ( any recomendations ? )
Water pump
Timing belt.
Drive belts
Think thats it unless anyone else can think of something ive forgot.
Will post pic of engine asap.

Cheers
