This is the jackshaft and/or intermediate shaft.

and this is the jackshaft connected to the passenger axle. and the other axle is the driver's side.

these are not actually MX3 axles but they look almost exactly the same...you should call mazda and ask for an intermediate shaft, bearing, bracket, and the 3 bolts to hold it on.

oh yea and crappy auto parts stores don't stock the part..i looked around when i bought new axles for my bpt...most of the people looked at me dumb and didn't know what i was talking about. little did they know that they were the retarded ones...the people that did know what i was talking about told me they didn't sell them.

so i know that the axle for the automatic is a half inch longer then that of the manual. But is it the axle thats shorter or the jackshaft thats shorter?

In other words, is it the jackshaft thats different from auto to manual or is it the outer axle assembly?

i care because i have the outer shaft already installed and i was going to use it. but if its the outershaft thats different from auto to manual and not the jack shaft, then i need both parts! please help i need this by the weekend.

the parts store said they found a jack shaft that they are not 100% sure its the right one but its about 22.5 inches long. hes getting it tomorrow at 3 o clock. sounds a little long dont ya think?

Not being 100% sure is what got you here in the first place.


Sorry to keep repeating myself- but go to a junkyard and just get the right parts.

You need the manual jackshaft and the passenger side axle from a manual as well.

If you say the driver side one works- then fine.

I said it fit with force. but the holes for the bracket did not line up with the holes on the block. we had to push it in pretty hard. but i still cannot find the part!!!!!!!!!! does anyone have one?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
