Is this a dealer part?

Post by azazel95 »

I need a new (not sure of actual name) cushion for the engine mount that is located near the pulley system on the strut tower. I looked on Autozone.com but couldn't find anything. Its not providing the cushion well causing the engine to knock around. Any help appreciated.

Looks like http://rockauto.com/ has em. You have a 95 RS right?

Yes I have a 95 RS and I believe it is the belt side motor mount. Thanks for the link. I'm assuming I will need to support the engine in order to replace the mount, correct?

No.. you can just unbolt it and replace it.. worst case you might need to push or pull on the engine (From front to back) a little to get the bolt holes to line up.. its more of a idler type of mount.. doesnt actually support any weight.. just keeps the engine from moving excessively.

Agree w/Tunes. Should only need to add temp support for the engine/tranny if replacing the lower mounts which do support the motor.

Ck the mx-3.com home page link for the online manual. Your engine bay is covered throughout section B1 I think but am too lazy to verify. It's Friday.

Ok I found an AutoZone that has them but I'm not sure if its the Front mount or the Front-Right mount. I think its the front mount because its in the center on top, and I'm thinking the front-right one is the one on the bottom. Please verify ASAP because they have to order the part.

autozone and most stores should be able to get them.... order it for a 94 ford escort gt.... a lot of stores have problems linking some parts to mazda's even though they do have them. advance auto part has solid one's w/ a lifetime warranty for the escort gt.

Well actually the problem was just that the mount was loose. All I had to do was tighten down the bolts and now no noise.
