//questions???

Post by MX3ze@7psi »

I just got done with my pipes and tested them on my ZE with out any fuel management except my 255 walbro fuel pump. I only took it around the block and it only hit 5psi for about one second. and it only boosted once because the pipes keep on blow off. Should it hurt the ZE much??? It only hit boost once. Oh and yeah it spooled up fairly quickly too. I mounted it in the front and not by the side. pix soon....

5psi will not hurt your motor... expecially for only a few seconds

some people run 5-7psi on bone stock ZEs daily

as long as your bov is working i don't think you'll have anything to worry about

well i was just wondering cause one of my buddies was using my cartech fmu so I couldn't use it and I just ran it with just the fuel pump. My greddy blow off valve was working good too. Thanks!

More like - as long as your WASTEGATE is working and hooked up right, you should be fine. Blow-off valves prevent compressor surge, which is good for the turbo, but the wastegate is the only thing keeping the turbo from over boosting and destroying your engine.

just don't do it again...you were running 5 psi on a ze with stock fuel injection...you're lucky nothin happened..well it was only for a second that's ok I guess..Just be carefull next time..because 45-50 psi on 5 psi on a ze could destroy it by running lean..

Yeah not going to try it again. Do you think running just the 2025 cartech fmu and 255 walbro fuel pump will be enough fuel to run the ZE at 5psi or do I need somthing else? I know that megasquirt is the best way to go but I don't want to mess with all the wiring. My KF setup was with just the 2025 cartech fmu and lasted awhile before the injectors went out and blew.

yeah sure cartech 2025 will do just fine..that's what I have now and it runs great..as soon as the break in finishes though I'm swaping to MS but not because the 2025 doesn't work good it's because I'm shooting for high boost and fmu's are not reliable up there
