crazy 4 quid postage for a bit of plastic

my mate fitted one of those to his Celica after he got rid of the Toyota double-din thing... works really well, and they look good too.. the storage space is an obvious plus!

If that cavity is regular din size then the open storage box from the NA MX's will bolt right in. Don't believe we got the cassette holder appointment in NA MX's.

You could have either have this fitted or a CD storage bit that the same seller sometimes has on auction. see http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... gory=63691

The original equipment is Clarion - I still have my cassette radio in the loft.
Re-shaped and re-sized gearshift lever. Best driveability mod you can do!
Extra thick soundproofing in the boot (trunk) to quieten my stainless steel exhaust system :)

Ian, tried to incorporate after market CD unit to original head unit as pictured above by utilizing DIN plug - didn't pan out - bought aftermaket head unit - 10 years ago. Still have paperwork from Mazda on original head unit and stamping on back said it was Fujitsu Ten, Model # CE-3430TY1A, model# on cassette door is 3262. Then again, perhaps Clarion is a subsidiary of Fujitsu Ten.

Anyway, real reason for post is that I would dearly love to get my hands on that cup holder appointment. If those pictures are a true indication, than it goes right into an existing single din openning - correct? Didn't even know such an item existed. Any leads on tracking one down would be much appreciated. Would definitely be a much better drive to work in the morning with my favourite cup of "Joe" in a proper holder. Thanks and Cheers.

I need a cubby hole in mine there too now, had a HU lying around the house for ages (previous car used some weird setup, that it didn't fit in!)

so now it fits, (tried it... it slides in fine) so now I have only a 1 Din ugly hole... cubby hole will be good for that, esp if its deep.. for CD holding purposes :D

HU?????
Are those DIN cup holder unit's a popular / available item to get in the UK? Would really, really, really like to get my hands on one. Typical Canuck - always carrying a travel mug with our favourite coffee....LOL

HU = Head Unit.. my CD player.. sorry, guess its not a common abbreviation!

I dont think those cubby holes are that common.. not at < £5 anyway, you could easily get one from Mazda, -basically you get an MX-5 one and it fits in the MX-3 perfectly, but they're probably > £20 from Mazda, so eBay is the place to go.. where there isn't a huge variety there.
