ractive/toucan rear strut bar installation

Post by craftydarren »

Has anyone here installed the Toucan REAR strut bar? I cannot seem to get both holes (both holes on each side) to fit over the two bolts on the strut on the car. I can only get one hole over one of the bolts. Is this the way it is supposed to be? There are actually three holes on each side of the strut bar but there are only two bolts on the strut top on the car and I assumed that the strut bar is supposed to go over both bolts for stability.
So has anyone installed this thing over both bolts? I think soundomain.com sent me the wrong rear strut bar.

are the holes in a triangle form? if so, you got the wrong strut bar.

here's what you can do, drill new strut tower holes into the bar.
actually, if its triangle shape, the top is already taken care of. mount the top hole, and mark a place on the other side for the bottom hole and do that to the other side of the strut bar and you're good to go. you may have a few empty holes but who cares it'll be covered up.

Ok it sounds like I got the wrong bar. The holes on mine are in a triangle form. I'll have to think about if I should return it or drill holes...

ya I had the EXACT same problem, got the same 3 hole strut bar and I just bent the strut bar mount to fit, it works and looks great, not worth the return IMO I had pics up somewhere else but dunno where. anways good luck returning it or installing it. And you did get the wrong bar, ours is only supposed to have 2 holes on the mounts not 3.

ya the bar you got is the same one me and paragon got, the mount has 1 to many holes and it seems like it shoudl fit and the length is right but its just slightly aimed wrong and the holes arent exact, it definitely is the wrong bar because I had same problem, you could probably bend it and be fine its not to hard to install the one you got compared to the one you should have got.
