Springs & Shocks for a `92 Mx3
Springs & Shocks for a `92 Mx3
Hi

I am looking around for lowering parts for my mx3, and have a hard time finding any good info (except here).
I want the car to be really stiff, but I don`t think I can afford Ground Control coil-overs... (shipping to Norway is expensive.. not to say I have to add 24% taxes on the cost of the part...)
I see that the Tokico blues sounds good, but when I look at their page, it says it cannot be used by mx3`s with ABS... doesn`t the US version of the Mx3 have ABS?
anyway, I was thinking of the red Koni`s & Eibach combo. will this be much stiffer than stock? and will it lower my car so it makes a difference?
I can get a Mazdaspeed shocks & spring kit. Would this be the best performing combo?
/ nope-mx3
[ December 01, 2002: Message edited by: nope-mx3 ]

The mazda speed struts are well thought of, it's probably your best bet for a stiff ride.
From what I've heard the tokico blues can't handle stiff springs. The ZX2 struts are good, but require modification....
Sorry I can't help you more.

Eibach springs arent too stiff. If you want stiff, you gotta go with coilovers.
WHY do you want stiff?

I want the best handling I can get, without forking out bigtime. I want to be able to go around turns as fast as possible, with little bodyroll.
I found Mazdaspeed springs that was recommended for use with the mazdaspeed struts. They are made by Eibach..
Do you think it`s the same as the Pro-Kit?
they where said to lower 30mm, and the Pro-kit is less, I believe.
nope-mx3
Ps, thanks for all the input guys. It`s much appreciated!
[ December 02, 2002: Message edited by: nope-mx3 ]

Then get tires. You can every last suspension mod on earth. It still wont equal the gain from a GOOD set of tires.
Bodyroll doesnt effect how fast you can go around a corner...simply how well it will deal with bumps within that corner.

I got tires

215/40-17 Goodyear eagle f1`s
Just lacking a decent suspension system.
Just talked to the company that could get me the Mazdaspeed kit, and the Eibachs in that kit was made by Eibach on the specs from Mazdaspeed. So they are probably a lot stiffer than the Pro-kit. (I hope)
nevertheless, it should be a major difference from stock struts & springs no matter what

Hmm, Mazdaspeed springs lower it by 30mm, and they are recommended with the mazdaspeed struts.
I think I`m going with this combo. Should be killer I think

Re: Springs & Shocks for a `92 Mx3
protogests is right. with different tires you can improve handling. after you get tires i would recommend getting larger sway bars for the front and rear. that should give you an enormous boost in handling and still maintain stock ride height and suspension travel.
