I thought the CT26 was off of the toyota MR2 and Celica AWD turbos (since they used the same 3SGTE engine). I would think they wouldn't have enough output to be used on the Supra.

well, I can't really tell you which cams or anything to run. Consult the forced induction forums, and there is an interesting article in the V6 FAQ you should check out if you are looking to turbocharge.
I believe the MR2 turbo puts out 14psi stock, and 16 on some modified CT26's. It is a rather quick spooling turbo though.

The CT26 is the turbocharger used for the MKIII TT supra. I'm sure it would work fine for your V6.
P.S. Please tell me if you can get the other turbo. If you can I would LOVE to have it. I have a CT20 on my truck that is blown and I need a replacement. Thanks.

And the owner never took into consideration the price he could get for the turbos, piping, ecu, or IM?!

I can get ANY turbo for $50 if they can find one. It's just the CT26 is a somewhat rare turbo. If you could hook me up with one for $20 that would be awesome.

Okay, I was thinking it couldn't be the third gen supra. That was the second gen you're thinking of, I6 3.0L (or is it 2.5L, bad memory) single turbo

You're right. I was thinking the MKIII had the CT26 and the MKII had the CT12, but the twin turbo used the CT12 turbo. My bad. Sux for me tho. I got excited. :(
But, you got a damned good deal. Everywhere I look for the CT20 I get prices like $450 if I send mine in to get fixed, or $900 for a new/refurbished item.
[ February 17, 2003: Message edited by: VizualXTC ]

CT26 still is a good turbo, the MR2 about the same powerband as the MX-3. I mean, the horsepower usually drops off at 6000-6500

ok the CT26 turbo is an AWSOME turbo. My best friend has a 88 celica altrac. It comes with a ct26. This car is amazing. It is a great turbo, it will support 10x more psi then you can ever use, on the stock mx-3 motors. Good choice.
Dominic

It can take abuse because it was made for daily driving. If you get one with low mileage, or rebuild one, it should last you a while.
