I was reading on I-club about CF hoods. Apparently (I never thought about this at all) a cheap carbon fiber hood will come right through the windshield and decapitate the passagers in an accident because most of the CF hoods are not designed with crumple zones. So think about that before you install a CF hood on your car. Some companies design them to crumple but most of the $300-500 ones are not. Also, the $300-$500 ones use 'wet' carbon fiber that is not that light, the quality ones use 'dry' carbon fiber and should only weigh in at 6-10lbs. Again, it all comes down to you get what you pay for.

u dont have to worry about that. for a hood to come off the mounting andfly through a slanted windshield would have to be one hell of an accident and you would probably end up dead anyway. So I dont think you need to worry.

OK....I am pretty sure I found someone to let us borrow their hood. Now we need to decide on a hood. Should we just get OEM style hoods or a hood with a scoop. I know almost everyone wants their own design but with setup costs very high and each design taking a seperate mold I think we should decide on one.. OEM might satisfy everyone but then again......

I'm voting for a hood with a inverted scoop because it would help suck out a lot of the hot air my turbo makes.
