Custom Cold AIr Intake install questons
Re: Custom Cold AIr Intake install questons
Sure that is probably the HP gain for COLD AIR.. (+1/-10C) however what is the gain for going to a better intake as opposed to your stock airbox. I wouldn't be surprised to see 5HP as the stock airbox pretty well sucks..or rather... think of it like a drink straw compared to a large slurpee straw, which one pulls in more air? more air means more gas can be put in the chamber, meaning more HP.

I'm to lazy to make my own.
Which intake is better for the V6? The PRM one or the one for the integra on street-import?
Also, anyone have a link to instructions for a proper install?

I would be surprised if changing the stock airbox contributes more than 0.5 to 1.0 hp. Changing the filter element in the stock airbox to a K&N may give 3 or 4 - that's what I did. And it's a lot less hassle than messing around with PRMs, Home Depot, etc, and you keep the stock cold air intake.Originally posted by RoundTop:

Re-shaped and re-sized gearshift lever. Best driveability mod you can do!

Very true, however, moving the filter behind your bumper will not decrease the temperature THAT much. I would say you're lucky if the air is 10-15 degrees Celcius 'colder'. You have to remember that the CAI is made of metal, an excellent conductor of heat. The CAI is attatched to your throttle Body which is far from 'cold', and the air still has to pass through there. Ill stick with my original statement, if you're looking for HP, look elsewhere. A sweet sound is all you should hope for.Originally posted by killerpickle:

Yea, a few years after my PRM I regret it. Not that there is anything wrong with it but, $$$ USD for something you can do yourself at HoDe for quarter the price..you have to be insane.

Re: Custom Cold AIr Intake install questons
lastly, how do you know where to cut the pipes so that it will fit, because you can always cut a little more of either pipe. by the way, this is the street import one. so where do you cut, and which pipe is a better idea to cut more of.

Doesnt the PRM one use the stock CAI which is rubber work a little better because it doesnt conduct the eat as much? I dont know just asking because i was thinking of getting the PRM one.Originally posted by bmwm3guy:
