Which VAF

Post by Talon_66 »

I just sat here searching for the last hour, and I couldnt find the post I was looking for. Anyways.
I was wondering which VAF is better to be running with the KLZE? The 1.8L VAF or the 2.5L VAF?

You shoyuld be using the KLZE throttle body. The K8 one will hurt performance.

I run the KLZE TB, K8 ECU & KLDE VAF - I got fastpass on Aircare, plenty of power and mileage is around 32 mpg. Works for me!

I also have the K8 TB (on the ZE curved neck IM). Is the TB from a KL-DE the same as from a ZE? What TB do I need so that I don't lose hp. (I can't afford one of the larger custom TB's, so it'll have to be something I can find off a US parts car.)

This depends on what ecu you are using. If you have the ZE ecu, use the mx-3 VAF. If you have the mx-3 ecu, use the VAF from a KL-DE. If you use ecu and VAF from mx-3, you will run rich and get bad milage.

32mpg x 12 gallons = 384 miles a tank. that is 114 miles more i can go on a tank of gas. i get about 270 under normal not slow not fast driving.

the klde and ze tb diameters are the same. the klze straight neck iac will not fit the mx3 so u must find a curved neck manifold tb and use the iac it came with or try to swap your k8 iac to the tb u r using.

I use a KLZE ECU with the 1.8l VAF, depending on how i drove, i get between 350-450kms a tank. I never broke 400km with my 1.8, so i actually get slightly better milleage witht the KLZE

i belive that the JE50 VAF is what is actually used in Japan with KLZE's

also a combo that i heard works is the KLDE VAF with teh KLDE ECU, i think killerpickle uses that combo
