klze finally :)

Post by killerpickle »

sup guys,
I finally booked my engine swap...last week of august...
I decided to go with A-SPEC, because it seems they have the best reputation and the price is right. I decided also to get my clutch done...in fact im just getting it ripped out, and I asked them to put a stage 3 copper puck clutch in.
Anyone else go with A-spec ?
I cant wait for my first test drive in it...
later.

Make sure that's a sprung hub clutch or you'll regret it.

think the clutch is a bit overkill. that will grab very aggressively. an mx6/probe stage 2 will do just fine unless you are planning on making this strictly a track car and doing a lot of power mods to it. just my .02, but congrats on getting the motor put in. let us know how it all turns out.
[ July 26, 2002: Message edited by: cre8v mx3 ]

thanks for the input cre8v mx3, you see I've never driven a stage 2 or 3 clutch, all i know is 3 is just about as good as you can get without losing street driveability....I hope Im right...I dont want an on/off clutch :)
as for power mods...who knows at this point...

thats what I was planning on...
but I think I need to do a little more research...
Do you know exactly what the clutch is that they make. I know its a 6puck copper clutch.

Tom,
I did my swap at A-spec, I'm very happy with it. They did a great job. I recommend them.

I'd stay away from copper puck clutches. Very grippy, to the point of destroying more than one G25M-R tranny that I've seen...
Go with a full faced organic disc and a heavy pressure plate if you want a grippy streetable clutch. Alot less chatter, longer tranny life. www.advancedclutch.com Get the kit for a MX-6 V6

The clutchmasters stage 3 is equivalent to an ACT stage 2. If you search this forum for ACT you'll find all the part numbers you need.
